Today we’re going over some of the biggest, avoidable mistakes that retirees make at retirement.

Some mistakes people might make are retiring too soon, not understanding their service computation date and thinking they have 30 years of service when they really don’t, and not picking the right retirement date.

Other problems involve survivor-benefit mistakes. Picking the wrong benefit
and not realizing they either don't need it or choosing the wrong one and paying a lot of extra money.

The biggest mistake I think people make is paying too much in taxes. If we don’t watch it, we can end up paying more in total lifetime taxes by pushing them off.

The last mistake is overconfidence. Just being overconfident that they've got everything together without getting someone to assist them, to double check, to make sure they have their ducks in a row.
