Dr. John Bodkin Adams was a British general practitioner who was convicted of fraud and suspected of being a serial killer. Between 1946 and 1956, 163 of his patients died while in comas, which raised suspicions and led to an investigation. In 1957, he was tried for the murder of Edith Alice Morrell, a wealthy widow, but was acquitted. Later that year, the General Medical Council removed him from the medical register after finding him guilty of prescription fraud and falsifying cremation certificates. He was reinstated in 1961 after two unsuccessful attempts to return. The case remains controversial, was he an angel of mercy or did he get away with murder?


This video is very much a watered down version of the trials and those involved over the years during the investigation.
