As part of our partnership with @UNICEFEgypt, we’ve worked towards utilising the medium of film to spotlight the stories that are going unnoticed and ignored by the mainstream news cycle - but it certainly hasn’t gone ignored by UNICEF Ambassador, @MonaZakiOfficial. This is especially true of the many issues suffered by the many disenfranchised young women in Egypt, the very same young women that have been given a platform to tell the stories with the support of the #GFF, UNICEF and a handful of Egyptian creatives. The partnership aims to advocate for the rights of disadvantaged children across Egypt and the region, feeding into our core value: ‘Cinema for Humanity’, and itn light of this, we sat down with Zaki and Ala Tharwat, Samaa Marghany amd Noura Rashid - three young Egyptian women that have not only felt the benefits of the initiative, but taken them as an opportunity to break out of the societal and cultural barriers that have diminished them all.
