Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning is located in the central area of Futian, Shenzhen. The Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning is divided into two parts: the Contemporary Art Museum and the Urban Planning Museum, and adopts the "two museums in one" mode of operation and management.
The Shenzhen Museum of Contemporary Art and Urban Planning was designed by the Austrian Coop Himmelblau, a “pioneer of deconstructionism”. The building unifies two independent functional organizations, the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) and the Museum of Urban Planning (MOUP), under the same building skin and shares some public service spaces. The unique exhibition hall has become a new cultural and artistic landmark in Futian District, Shenzhen.
The two pavilion projects comprehensively use more than 100 new technologies that can be applied in large areas, such as "solar energy and building integration applications, automatic spraying and dustproof devices on construction roads, and bridge damping and shock absorption technology", as well as registered patents such as "sandbox unloading" Technology, popular "architectural 3D modeling (i.e. BIM system)", "robot high-precision automatic measurement and control technology", "3D printing" and other scientific and new technologies are also widely used in the project.
As the visit progresses, the historical changes of Shenzhen from a border town to a modern international metropolis are introduced in detail. Through a large amount of accurate data, detailed text descriptions, and vivid pictures and models, the process and achievements of Shenzhen's urban planning are demonstrated.
