What is WAN?

The WAN port is the external connection interface of the router, which allows you to connect the router to a Wide Area Network (WAN), usually the Internet. This port is the key point that connects your router to the outside world, allowing your devices to access the internet, download data, and communicate with other networks. Through the WAN port, you can connect the router to your Internet Service Provider (ISP) equipment in order to obtain an Internet connection.
