We were invited to go to Dumont dunes for Presidents’ Day weekend 2022 (3days, 2nights) by our friend David and His Family. It was our first time there and ended up to be quite amazing. The only vehicle we have that is like a buggy Is our Yamaha rhino. After getting there we realized that it is not quite the right machine for the size of these dunes. We relegated the Rhino to a pit bike, And saddled up with our friend David and his Honda V6 powered Sand Limo. After riding in formation with his friend Scott who had a Subaru powered Sandrail and his friend Al who had a LS1 V8 Powered Sandrail, we learned what real dune riding is like. It’s no lie that I love my Landcruisers bye riding on sand dunes in a sand rail with big horsepower and paddle tires is a completely different experience. If you’ve never done it before, do yourself a solid and at least ride as a passenger in one sometime in your life before you die. When you have somebody driving that has Tons of experience and doesn’t make any driving mistakes that get you stuck or worse… The experience is Epic to say the least.
