Pilot rescued after making emergency landing into ocean.

The creator of the video posted this on social media. On Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 7:33 PM, Mark Finkelstein's small, single engine aircraft began experiencing engine failure. Unable to return to the Cape Fear Regional Jetport, and seeing the beach area to be crowded, Mark made the decision to perform an emergency water landing in the ocean near the Oak Island Pier at 705 Ocean Drive. Members of the Oak Island Beach Safety Unit, as well as the Southport Fire Department and Oak Island Water Rescue were already in the area, having just responded to a water rescue call nearby. Within minutes of his landing in the water, units from multiple agencies were at the plane, and able to swiftly recover Mr. Finkelstein, transporting him back to shore."
