This video is a collaboration with AI tools like Runway Gen-3 Alpha, Suno AI, and ChatGPT 4o. I used Runway Gen-3 Alpha to bring my surreal requests to life. After I got some visuals that inspired me, I wrote the lyrics and Suno did a wonderful job of creating the soundtrack. I got creative feedback and two additional versus from ChatGPT 4o (which I edited). When I had enough imagery to work with, I put the video together in Premiere Pro, and it was a straight forward edit because the video footage was so wonderful. This process involved a lot of give and take and a substantial investment of time, money, and creativity, repeatedly refining the prompts to achieve the desired outcome.
AI has become an adventure to work with. I don’t mind the lack of absolute control because the surprises are worth the disappointment. Think about this: the Surrealists were all about the message, not just the medium, and they were willing to adapt to raw ideas from the unconscious. They would have embraced AI for its potential to dream in uncanny and unexpected ways.
