One Life to Live 9/19/1989

Kelly tells Max that Al keeps asking for his mom. Max explains to Al that his mommy may be away for quite some time, but that she still loves him. Cord brings CJ by for a play date with Al and Kelly takes the boys to the park. Cord vents to Max about his troubles with Tina and admits that not being able to trust her was why he divorced her the first time. Viki tells Roger she’s made a decision about co-chairing the Centennial Committee, but before she can tell him her decision, Clint bursts in with the good news that they are now the sole owners of The Banner. After they celebrate, Viki explains why Roger stopped by, and Clint says there’s just no way Viki has time to help lead the committee. Roger says if that’s the case, he’d rather hear it from Viki. Viki says she wants to co-chair the committee, since her family helped found the town and settle the whole area, so she can’t see herself sitting on the sidelines of the whole celebration. Clint is angry that she would put the committee (and in particular Roger) ahead of her family obligations, and he storms off in jealousy. Debra visits Gabrielle in jail and is shocked to see she has a black eye and other bruises. Gabrielle insists she is fine and just fell, but Debra is worried. Debra promises to figure out how to raise the $25,000 cash for bail. Debra confesses that there is a boy she likes, but their mother doesn’t think he’s upper-class enough for her.

Megan visits Viki at Llanfair to tell her about the encounter with Llana Flagg’s ghost and the spectre's request to have her remains moved to the Lord family crypt. Viki doesn’t believe the story and suggests she’s just getting too involved in the role. Megan says she’ll bring Viki to the Flagg house tomorrow to prove it. Julia goes to Grandeview to collect Gabrielle’s possessions, but Martin believes it’s best if she stays in the living room while he packs her daughter’s things. While he’s upstairs collecting Gabrielle’s effects, Julia picks the lock on the china cabinet and grabs a goblet to try and hock for the money. Julia takes the goblet to a dealer who offers her $10,000 for it. When she insists it’s worth at least 3 times that much, he agrees that it would be, if it weren’t stolen. She reluctantly accepts the offer. Gabrielle asks for a priest to visit her in jail and hear her confession. Debra asks Max if he can help her raise the bail. Max promises to see what he can do. Max makes a phone call and later posts the bail for Gabrielle. When he picks her up at the jail, he explains he has an idea for how to track down Michael and the baby.
