A very patriotic song that came out during World War 1 and I am sure was meant as a recruitment tool for getting more young men signed up.

I found that this cylinder was dubbed from Edison Diamond Disc matrix 5561. But I have not been able to find any information about the Diamond Disc version of the song. I seem to only find the Blue Amberol version. Could it be that the cylinder record was the only one released? If anyone knows more I would love to hear about it.

Gladys Rice was born on 27 November 1890 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. She died on 17 September 1983 in New Rochelle, New York, USA. She was the daughter of performers Sally Cohen and John C. Rice (famous for The Kiss (1896).

Gladys was a popular American singer. She recorded with Edison throughout the 1910s and 1920s, including duets with the likes of Billy Murray and Irving Kaufman. Rice sometimes recorded under the names "Rachel Grant" and "Bettina Bergere”.
