This PSA campaign by DAV (Disabled American Veterans) honors all of America’s veterans, from the beaches of Normandy to the desert of Kandahar.

America made a promise to every one of these veterans; a promise that they would have the opportunity to succeed in civilian life when their tour of duty ended. They were promised a range of benefits including healthcare, disability benefits and financial benefits. Yet, far too many of them have to fight for, or don’t even know how to go about accessing, their benefits.

DAV is one of America’s largest and most effective veterans service organizations. We have more than 1,300 local chapters and nearly 300 trained professionals who work every day to help veterans get the support they need and deserve. DAV serves hundreds of thousands of veterans each year, and at no cost to the veteran or his or her family.

In the PSAs, emotional photos and footage remind viewers of the military conflicts in which America’s service members have put themselves in harm’s way to fight for our country and our way of life – from World War II and Korea, through Vietnam, the Gulf War, Iraq and Afghanistan. The PSAs end by showcasing powerful present-day portraits of the men and women, of all eras and generations, who have served honorably and deserve to be taken care of when they return home.

The men and women who are DAV—from our highly trained professional staff to our 1.2 million members—are veterans. Our staff members care deeply for the men and women who served by their side, and now they work directly with them to get them the benefits they earned. That is the heart of the message of this PSA—we will not forget the men and women who served; we fight to fulfill the promises this country made to our veterans.
