The South African National Petroleum Company - SANPC - is expected to operate in an increasingly volatile, unpredictable, and polarised world, also in a world where there is a shift in demand towards cleaner sources of energy production. That's according to Mineral Resources and Petroleum Minister Gwede Mantashe. Mantashe was speaking at the launch of the new State Owned Company SANPC - Merging Petro SA, IGAS and the Strategic Fuel Fund. He told delegates that the increasing population and the need for industrial growth in the short-to-medium term, means the demand for fossil fuels is expected to rise for the foreseeable future.
