This morning the SBA sent out an email updating the terms of the collateral requirements for current SBA EIDL loans, and I wanted to get this quick video update out to you. Plus, my thoughts on the $10,000 EIDL grants and if we will see a second round of EIDL now that the elections are over.

The email states:

Please see the attached letter for information regarding changes to your SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loan.

In these unprecedented times, we understand the challenges you are facing. The SBA is making every effort to support small businesses, which are the backbone of the American economy. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we worked to process your loan modification.

Attached to the email is a PDF document which goes into further detail:

It appears to be a little bit vague, but what it seems to be saying is if you need to sell some of your business assets to free up capital, they will consider allowing you to do so as long as you seek their approval first.

In my opinion, and remember, my team of exceptional lawyers chained up in my basement want me to make it clear, I am not a lawyer, just some random dude on the internet. This is not legal advice, blah, blah, blah, you get the point.

Anyways, in my opinion, I think the SBA realizes the economy will continue to get worse for small businesses due to Congress dragging their feet for the past 6-months on any additional stimulus. With this in mind, the SBA is a little bit understanding and willing to let you sell some of your assets to recoup some cash.

Pelosi was delaying the second round of stimulus to hurt the Trump reelection campaign in hopes of pushing a "blue wave" to take the White House and the Senate. While the election results are not finalized from a legal standpoint, the AP and most media outlets have called Biden the winner. I will not debate this and realize most likely he will be our next President, that can be considered a win for Pelosi. However, she did fail to take over the Senate, and her party is viewing the delay in stimulus at Pelosi's hands as one of the main reasons.

Pelosi feels the pressure from the factions within the Democratic party to get stimulus approved before the end of the year. If she can get a new package approved, this will go a long way towards assuring her reelection as Speaker of the House. If she fails to get a stimulus package approved or continues to stonewall, this might signal the end of her as Speaker, and she knows this.

With this in mind, I, along with many in DC, feel a stimulus package compromise across both parties is coming to the floor this week.

Your business was recently approved for an Economic Injury Disaster Loan from the U.S. Small Business
Administration (SBA). The executed Loan Authorization and Agreement contains a requirement for
collateral which will require written consent of the SBA to seek future advances under any superior liens
on the collateral securing this loan. This requirement has been determined by SBA to be unnecessary and
as a result has been removed from the Loan Authorization and Agreement.
The following is the revised collateral requirement:
REQUIREMENTS RELATIVE TO COLLATERAL · Borrower will not sell or transfer any collateral
(except normal inventory turnover in the ordinary course of business) described in the "Collateral"
paragraph hereof without the prior written consent of SBA.
This letter is a permanent amendment to your Loan Authorization and Agreement.
ALL OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS REMAIN UNCHANGED.
