During our interview, we dove into the world of autism. And, to do this we had the honour of chatting with those who hold a passion for raising awareness for Autism Spectrum Disorders - the Founder of Bikers for Autism – James Baker, Sailor Jerry Run Canada rep, Aaron Thomas, Constable Randy Arsenault of the Toronto Police Department and, the Co-Founder of ABR Autism Services of Northumberland, Doug Bates on the show.
James Baker launched the Bikers for Autism Society in 2012 in order to combine two passions: motorcycles and autism awareness. James recognized that the close-knit culture of the motorcycle community was very similar to that of the autism community, and set out to bring those two communities together. Bikers for Autism is on a cross-Canada motorcycle ride that started in British Columbia - focused on raising public awareness for autism highlighting the importance of early diagnosis, as well as raising funds for services and support for Autism Centres and families affected by Autism. They joined us live momentarily from the Toronto Police Services Scarborough Department – 43rd Division – which is one of the stops on their Cross-Canada Ride.
