I dedicate this episode to my father, Wallace J. Ryan, who passed away today at the age of 87. He was a truly wonderful man and I wish more people could have known his warmth and compassion. In his memory, do something nice for someone else today.

IN THIS EPISODE, I peruse a small cache of books. And It was damn hard trying to be enthusiastic with such a heavy heart. But it was something that just had to be done.

We start with another book in the Library of American Comics Essentials and this month, it's the final volume of Herriman's “Baron Bean”, seen by many as a precursor to the classic “Krazy Kat” comic strip. Not everyone's cup of tea...but for those fans of classic comic strips, a little gem. Marvel Comics entry to this week's show is the Marvel Masterworks volume 20 of “the Amazing Spider-man” which features the Annual done by Frank Miller. I also have a look at “the Wally Wood Christmas Book” from Vanguard, which is a must for any Wood fan and it makes a perfect Christmas gift!!! I round out the week with Jodorowsky and Ladronn's “the Sons of El Topo” from Archaia, Colfer, Donkin and Rigano's “Illegal” from Sourcebooks Jabberwocky and last but not least, we have volume 2 of PS Artbook's “Mister Mystery”. A small week but next week looks like it'll make up for that!

Once done with the books, I unpacked my special edition record-comic book set of “MIND MGMT” from Matt Kindt and voice actor, Clint McElroy. And I have to say, that it's probably my favourite addition to the Library for this week.
