Track 06: An Eclipse, an Age
Usually I just call this Eclipse to myself. I made this song about missing someone. The idea that the Sun and Moon only meet when there’s a solar eclipse. Both of them watch over the Earth, and they inhabit the same sky, but they’re apart from each other nearly all the time.
When I started making it, I wanted it to barely even sound like music at all. More like a noise you could only love if you gave it attention. I’ve given it so much attention now, I genuinely can’t tell if I succeeded. Maybe let me know.
Nowadays Eclipse also represents change to me. Like a cyclical change, the kind of thing that’s scary and new every time, but repeats itself over the years and generations.
I didn’t release it sooner because of the sounds at the end. I did record them, I wanted them to feel correct even if not perfect. It’s kind of a reminder to myself

Four years ago, I was planning to release a much longer album that would include more of the first songs I wrote. I think those deserve their own collection, but my standards have gone up and the ones I’m including in ALL WOT WAS are a lot more personal than some of the older ones.
It’s a really short album because of that. I have a few newer songs now as well, but I made those with a different lens, so I think they’re becoming their own project. We’ll see! It’s probably good to archive my music here.
It’s my first “full album release,” I guess. So nobody is allowed to complain lol
And sorry it took so long to get these ones out.
