It seems as if not everyone is pleased with the proposed infrastruecture development bill. Early in the week, on the first day of public hearings, organisations such as Business Unity South Africa and the Centre for Environmental Rights said that the bill is merely adding more red tape in the process of approving of projects. Fast tracking Infrastructure development is one of government's main priorities. The drafted bill is meant to to meet the demands of a growing economy and population. Some hospitals that were built years ago for example are now forced to accomodate more people than the amount they were built for.
