Описание к видео अनार से ज़्यादा फल लेने की ट्रिक् / How to get better flowering & fruiting in Pomegranate plant

Those who are connected to our channel must know how due to severe heat the flowers on our pomegranate plant bloomed yet dried up & dropped. & how with extra care from our side our pomegranate plant bloomed again.
In today’s video, we will show you how many of those flowers matured into fruits, and along with that we will also be sharing some tips and tricks on how to ensure a maximum yield from your pomegranate plant as well.
Pomegranate is a plant that grows well in hotter climates and can easily flourish with little maintenance. One thing to keep in mind is that it requires a minimum of 5-6 hours of direct sunlight.
Like most plants, pomegranate also requires an acidic growing medium; also, adding a layer of organic compost on top of the growing medium can do wonders for its growth.
In the comment section of our last video, many people asked us about the reasons behind pomegranate plant having fewer flowers or dropping of flowers that are there, and how to fix it.
The first thing to do is to check if the pomegranate plant that you have is not just an ornamental plant that only gives flowers not fruits.
The second reason behind it can be inadequate sunlight. If the pomegranate doesn’t get its daily 5-6 hours of sunlight then there are less chances of it producing the adequate amount of flowers as well.
Also, if you give the plant a lot of nitrogenous manure during its flowering season then also it gives a fewer number of flowers.
To ensure maximum flowering, the soil in which it’s being grown should have an adequate quantity of phosphorous in it.
Another reason can be the lack of pruning & cutting of the pomegranate plant as flowers usually grow on the new branches that come after it. Pruning is especially important during the plant’s first three years.
A reason for dropping of flowers can be the lack of pollination that is done by the bees. Another reason for this can be the lack of hermaphrodite flowers, that is, female flowers on the pomegranate flower.
Now let’s see how we can ensure a maximum yield of flowers and fruits from our pomegranate plant.
Firstly, make sure to add manure to the soil being used right after the winters get over. Make sure that the manure has less quantities of nitrogen and more quantities of phosphorous. Also add 2 cups of bone meal and half a cup of seaweed extract granules to it as that will ensure adequate amounts of calcium for maximum flowering capacity of the plant.
Secondly, make sure that proper pruning and cutting of the plant is done either at the end of January or the beginning of February. If the pomegranate plant has had a good growth so far, cutting off 1-2 feet from each branch is sufficient. If that is not the case then only cut a few inches off of each branch. This will lead to growth of new side branches that have more flowering capacity.
If the reason behind dropping of flowers is lack of pollination done by honey bees, then a similar type of pollination can be replicated by hand. All you need to do is take a soft brush & gently move it around inside the flower. Doing hand pollination ensures that nothing is left to chance and more and more flowers mature into fruits instead of dropping prematurely.
If even after doing all this, flowers are still dropping then you will have to pay attention to the flower itself. There are three types of flowers on the pomegranate plant. First being the male flowers in which pollination doesn’t take place, second being the hermaphrodite flowers that have both male and female parts and have the capacity to mature into fruits and lastly the kind that only have the female parts and are called the intermediate flowers. Intermediate flowers can also mature into fruits. If your plant has a lesser number of hermaphrodite flowers than you can make a solution of seaweed extract or some other plant flowering hormone and spray it on the pomegranate plant. This will increase the ratio of hermaphrodite flowers on the plant. Some people also use a solution of boron and calcium nitrate is for the same.
That’s it for this video and we hope that you found the information useful and will surely give this video a big thumbs up, share it with your friends and subscribe to our channel if you haven’t before.
