The fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) has revealed alleged financial irregularities worth crores of rupees. Alleged irregularities of more than 908 million rupees have been revealed in BSL 5, these alleged irregularities took place in the Pakistan Cricket Board during Imran Khan's regime. The Auditor General raised objections to advance payments to various companies against the rules. According to the document, huge expenses were spent on the opening ceremony of PSL 5, 241 million rupees were spent on the opening ceremony. It has also been revealed that regular payments were made without obtaining bank guarantees from vendors, appointment of Liaison and Protocol Officer for PSL 5 against the rules, graphic and truck branding rights of Rs.61 million were given against merit. It should be noted that PSL 5 was held for the first time entirely in Pakistan. The inauguration ceremony was held in Karachi.
