Alexis Rosen explores "The What, When, and Why of Cognitive Challenges in Parkinson’s and How to Overcome Them."

Alexis Rosen, PhD, is a licensed clinical neuropsychologist within the Cognitive Rehabilitation Service at the Martinez VA. She earned her degree from the Pacific Graduate School of Psychology at Palo Alto University, with an emphasis in neuropsychology. Her interests lie at the intersection of neuropsychological evaluation and cognitive rehabilitation, as she strives to both understand patients’ cognitive challenges and teach practical strategies to overcome them.

For many living with Parkinson’s disease, motor signs and symptoms are often the first to be identified and treated. Have you ever wondered about those symptoms that are not readily seen? This presentation will offer insights into the cognitive challenges of Parkinson’s disease, including what to expect, when to expect them, and why such challenges occur. Participants will also learn a number of useful tools and strategies to help cope with changes in thinking skills.
