Blast Cleaning Technologies introduces a bold new innovation to the shot blasting process with the BCT Twistlok e-wheel.

The BCT Twistlok e-wheel, designed with precision components, superior alloys and a thread-less, maintenance friendly locking design. Let’s face it – shot blast machines and threads simply don’t play well together and BCT has developed a way around them…. let’s introduce you to the twistlok e-wheel components…

The heart of the Twistlok e-wheel is our patented investment cast e-wheel and nucklesaver components which are already battle proven in dozens of foundry and forge applications.

All Twistlok impellers, control cages and e-blades are investment cast from a Superior-Alloy Tool Steel providing un-paralleled precision, toughness and wear life approaching double that of traditional white-iron alloys

The Super-alloy e-blades are cast with a patented, continuously tapered ellipse providing a perfect engagement with the investment cast e-wheel itself. Removal of the e-wheel blades are a snap – no pins, no bushings, no springs, no extra junk required – period.

The patent-pending precision super alloy impeller is designed to provide a smooth transition with a cast in impeller bolt locking feature that allow the bolt head to be completely recessed into the body reducing turbulence within the wheel. Our Tool Steel alloy is 2-3 times tougher than traditional impellers with a wear life approaching 3 times longer in tough applications.

The Twistlok control cage also has some very practical, patent pending innovative design features to ease assembly and maintenance. Cast from the same Super-Alloy, the Twistlok control cage includes a patent pending outer wear ring, a portion of the cage casting adjacent to the impeller openings where the wear is typically more prominent to provide longer life. Cage openings in 35, 50, 75 and 95 degrees provide us the flexibility needed to design the proper shot pattern for any application.

The Twistlok clamp holds the control cage and feed spout to the cage adapter without the need for a single threaded bolt, nut or other hardware. Investment cast and hardened to allow the clamp to be rotated with a simple twist of the hand. The twistlok clamp has a series of half-rounds cast into the back side of the clamp – these half-rounds or ‘bubbles’ allow any shot, dirt, dust, metal fines or other particles to not interfere with the clamping process allowing the clamp to work flawlessly – every time.

The Twistlok feed spout, investment cast for a precision fit with the control cage is also hardened for extended life. A seal ring groove cast into the feed spout firmly holds the seal ring onto the spout creating a prefect seal.

Next up, the twistlok cage adapter, like the other components in the twistlok family, also investment cast and hardened for a precise fit. Cast into the cage adapter are several reverse angle ramps that mate with the twistlok clamp to securely hold the feed spout and cage in position – without a single bolt, thread or other problem related hardware. Cast directly into the cage and into the Twistlok adapter are corresponding numbers that highlight correct cage location and insure that the specific cage can only be installed in the proper location. This innovative yet simple design eliminates the need for separate bolts, roll pins or similar locator type parts required in most other wheel designs to keep the cage located correctly. This is Innovation made simple.

To finish off the Twistlok family we provide a simple, thread-less spring loaded Twistlok pin used to lock the Twistlok clamp in place. A quick half turn of the twistlok pin and it engages the serrated edges on the clamp to lock the assembly in position.

Whatever blast wheel you have in your plant – the BCT Twistlok just made it obsolete, it cannot compare in ease of assembly nor will it stand up to precision and the extended life you will get from superior -alloy of the twistlok e-wheel.
