"In November 2022, the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt hosted the 27th session of the Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 27), with a view to building on previous successes and paving the way for future ambition to effectively tackle the global challenge of climate change.

Ibrahima Cheikh Diong, United Nations Assistant - Secretary General : Established in 2012, the African Risk Capacity is a specialized agency of the African Union. Its main function is to help African countries plan, prepare and respond to the adverse effects of Climate change. Currently, the Expectation of the African Risk Capacity are : Apart from 35 members all other African continent become the members of the ARC; to diversify the product that could help the continent at the time of disaster; Build strong African solutions by working with other African institutions; make sure gender becomes an important part of the discourse as majority of the vulnerable communities happen to be women and for the organization to be financially sustainable.
