If you ask an avid rider or adventurer their best time to go for rides, most of them will give the same answer. It’s the monsoon season. With the excitement and happiness in taking your two-wheeler out in the rains, one should also make sure they have taken utmost care of their tyres as you wouldn’t want to get in an unpleasant situation.

Here are few things you must take care of, before taking your two-wheeler out for a spin in the rains.

Check your Tyre Pressure: Do not believe the common misconception that underinflated tyres have a better grip on wet surfaces. This is absolutely false. In fact, you should always make sure that your tyres are adequately inflated by following the owner’s instructions or performing a simple google search to find out the recommended tyre pressure.

Check your Tyre’s Tread Depth: Having no tread or having worn out treads would result in aquaplaning which in turn would just make your two-wheeler slip and slide on the wet surface. Thus, it is very important to keep your tread depth in check.

Check for any cracks on the sidewall.

Check for Uneven Tread Wear: This along with the cracks on the sidewall is extremely dangerous and should not be ignored. You can try and apply some polish to the tyre to act as a moisturizer and help get some stretch in the rubber back but most likely, you will have to purchase new tyres if the tyres are too worn out.

Last but not least, make sure you ride slow. With our countries’ road conditions & other factors, it is always better to ride slowly as you would not want your two-wheeler damaged after an accident or worst, suffer an injury yourself.
