I am going to take you to the tour of Ganga Sagar 2021 which will help you take an easy trip to Gangasagar makar sakranti mela 2022 easily.
"Baki tirath bar bar pr Ganga sagar ik baar" meaning in earlier days it was very difficult to perform Gangasagar dham yatra but now as we have many different means of transport and good facilities it is far easier to travel to this holy place.
I will let you know how we took this pilgrimage in one day and how you also can do it in one day.
To perform this yatra we have to follow different means of transport like from delhi to Kolkotta you can either come through aeroplane or by train.
Before performing this yatra we have been to Jagannath puri so we took train from Puri to Howrah which reached Howrah at around 4:30 am and without wasting any time we started our journey to Gangasagar where a tempo traveller was already waiting for us.
The Road trip from Howrah to Kakdwip was very mesmerizing but as we were very tired of train journey forget to shoot the road trip fully but some shots are there. We completed this trip in almost 4 hours despite we have diverge from main road because of bridge collapse.
You can travel to Kakdwip from Howrah by government or private bus which you can get from Espande Bus stop but it takes time to travel so my personal preference is either you book a car or tempo or bus.
We parked our Tempo traveller at kakdwip parking which costs about Rs 150-200 and then marched to Lot no 8 through e-rickshaw which cost 15 rupees per person
Cost of ticket from lot no 8 to kachuberia is rs 9 Only.
Although there was lot of crowd in the vessel we were able to get the place to sit and enjoy the ferry ride.Ferry runs from morning 9 to 4 pm.

People can also carry their motorbikes on this ferry with some additional charge.After ferrying for about 40 minutes we reached kachuberia.

From there we started our journey in a private bolero which costed about 1700 both sides but you can also take an auto rickshaw or share the rides with outher co passegengers.

After about 30 -40 minutes we reached Gangasagar parking , from there you either have to walk for a kilometer or so to the ocean or you can book an auto rickshaw for 60 rs per person.

If you are planning to stay near Gangasagar there are some dormitories there where you can easily stay for spending 300-500 rs per night.

Let me share some history about Gangasagar and kapil Muni.
A holy man, Kardam Muni, made a pact with Vishnu that he would undergo the rigours of marital life, on the condition that Vishnu would incarnate as his son. In due time Kapil Muni was born as an incarnation of Vishnu and became a great saint. Kapil Muni's ashram was located in the Gangasagar. One day King Sagar's sacrificial horse disappeared; it had been stolen by Indra.

The king sent his 60,000 sons to find it, and they found it next to Kapil Muni's ashram, where Indra had hidden it. Mistaking Kapil Muni for the thief, the sons accused Kapil Muni, who in his wrath at the false accusation burned the sons to ash and sent their souls to Hell. Later having compassion for the King Sagar's sons, Kapil Muni acceded to the prayers of King Sagar's descendants, agreeing to the restoration of the sons, if Parvati in the form of the river goddess Ganga would descend to Earth to perform the Last Ritual (Hindus also called as"Tarpan") of mixing the ashes with holy water

Through deep meditation, King Bhagiratha induced Shiva to order Ganga down from heaven and the 60,000 sons were freed (moksha) and ascended to Heaven, but the river Ganges stayed on the Earth. The date of the descent of Ganga was the date, as is at present the 15th Day of January of the Gregorian Calendar which coincides with that of Makar Sankranti (when Surya enters Makar Constellation, i.e. "Uttarayan" of Hindu Panchangam).


After a long trip and walking a lot we were really tired and down but as soon as we say the first glimpse of sea ( Gangasagar ) we were over joyed . Without wasting any time we were in middle of the water and we enjoyed a lot there . all our tiredness and dullness was gone. we were fresh like never before.

I personally never wanted to get out of it but as we have to reach kolkatta back the same day . we got out of water performed some rituals there at the beach and then went for dasrhan of Kapil Muni Aashram.
We felt a lot of calm inside the temple, the vivrations inside the temple was totally different . Really felt blesses to be there.

If someone want to stay overnight they can also attend the evening and morning aarti (prayers) as the temple

There is also a food court near the temple where you can enjoy good food.

At around 3 o' Clock in the afternoon we started our jouney back to Kolkatta and around 7 o clock in the evening we reached Kolkatta.

Overall, we enjoyed this trip a lot. I hope by watching this video you will also plan to visit Gangasagar one day
