Syrian refugees at Back Camp, the biggest refugee camp in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley, told China Central Television (CCTV) that they want to return to their homes once the situation in Syria becomes stable.

Currently, there are about 1.2 million Syrian refugees in Lebanon, of which 1,150 people from 360 families live in Back Camp. The conditions are relatively good as every family is provided with a 20-square-meter makeshift house, supplied with water, electricity and heating. According to camp staff, most of the refugees there are women and children, as well as families who have lost their ability to work.

"These families have lost their strongest members, and in very poor conditions. Most of the families also have children. They are all like this," said Muhammad Habash, manager of the camp.

The camp has a school with eight teachers, where children learn maths, civic education, English and Arabic from Monday to Friday. One of the teachers said that continuing their education is important for the children, especially for those children who suffered trauma.

"They are living in a pure and harmonious environment, which is positive for them. They will likely to forget what happened to them and embrace a brand new environment, which is very necessary for them at this stage," said Ahmed Ali, a teacher at Back Camp school.

The refugees showed their deepest gratitude to the Lebanese government for its assistance, but also said they long to return to their hometowns once the situation in Syria becomes stable.

"I want to thank the Lebanese people for receiving us and doing whatever they can to help us," said Lagarde, a Syrian refugee in the camp, adding, "if the chaotic situation in our country comes to an end, I would go back tomorrow." More on: http://newscontent.cctv.com/NewJsp/ne...
