The fourth weekend in June you will find us at the Maple Valley Amish Auction. It's an annual event that they host for their school and their hospital fund. It's a lot of work, but it pays off in the end. They raise quite a bit of money every year. They have multiple auction tents and a consignment yard. The tents include plants, household, books and small antique type items, tools, a garage sale-ish and small animal tent. There's a huge tent for food. They make fresh donuts, baked good, salad and fruit bar, lattes, pizza, hamburgers, hot dogs, homemade ice cream, pie a-la mode, and a lot more. Our personal favorite is their breakfast sandwiches with their homemade sausage. The consignment yard is just that- anyone can bring in items for bid, you get a portion and the Amish get a portion. It's in a beautiful setting surrounded by the majestic hills of the area and just stunning. When you come, bring a checkbook or plenty of cash cause they do not take credit cards.
