Hello, Everyone Welcome to my channel, Hope you are doing well. Today i am going to share about "Parkinson's disease'.

Parkinson’s Awareness Month is observed in April. (10th april to 16th april). Parkinson’s Awareness Month is an opportunity to increase awareness about the ailment and its symptoms, as well as to support victims. Parkinson's disease is a neurodegenerative disorder of the central nervous system that often impairs the sufferer's motor skills, speech, and other functions. Parkinson’s is a long-term disorder where the central nervous system degenerates and that affects the motor system. Motor symptoms like trembling, stiffness, and rigidity are usually associated with Parkinson’s disease.

♥ Statistics of Parkinson's Disease

♦ About 1 to 2 out of every 1,000 people has Parkinson’s disease.
♦ Every 400 out of 1,00,000 people in India are affected by Parkinson’s disease.
♦ Around 18 out of 1,000 people over 65 are affected. This disease is much more common in the elderly.
♦ In a door-to-door survey done in Bangalore district in South Karnataka in India in 2004, the prevalence rate of Parkinsonism was found to be 33 per 100,000 (crude prevalence) and 76 per 100,000 (age adjusted). Rural population had a higher prevalence compared to the urban population (41 vs 14).
♦ In India at 8.5 deaths per 100,000 women in 2013, the peak mortality rate was higher than that of men which was 3.3 per 100,000. the highest death rate from parkinson's disease in India women occurs at age 80 or more.
♦Symptoms of parkinson' disease may progress longer than 20 years.
♦ The annual mortality rate per 100,000 people from parkinson's disease in India has increased by 87.9% since 1990, an average of 3.8% a year.
