MINNELLI SPLITS

Singing legend LIZA MINNELLI, 57, has reportedly split up with her husband, David Gest, 50. The couple were married in New York 16th March 2002, in front of a star studded selection of friends including Michael Jackson, Elizabeth Taylor, Elaine Page, Sir Elton John, Anthony Hopkins, Mia Farrow and Joan Collins.

Rumours first began to brew four months ago in April when the couple cancelled plans for a lavish anniversary party that was to include performances from the likes of Tony Bennett, Natalie Cole, Ray Charles, Luther Vandross, Roberta Flack, Anastacia, Gloria Gaynor, Michael Jackson and Dionne Warwick, for a 1200 strong guest list. Speculation was dispelled though as it was reported that the cancellation was due only to Minnelli's return to rehab. The official reason given for the cancelled bash however was the fear of war with Iraq.
