The appeal of Param Sundari lies within this simplicity, much like The Roses, which is also out this week. A handsome boy, a beautiful girl, a picturesque, remote village, Sachin-Jigar’s music, and not ONE thing more than that. There is comfort in the predictable; occasionally, nothing wrong with some assured straightforwardness!

Param Sundari Review by Sucharita Tyagi - The ONE joke that lands in this film is a quick moment where Param is on a rowing team in a race, and to get everyone to row in rhythm, he starts singing “Yeh Dil Dewaana” from Pardes. Everyone joins along in smooth coordinated motion, divided by geography, united by Shahrukh Khan. But before it could develop into something more, the scene hurriedly cuts away to a painfully manufactured, unnecessary masala beat. One step forward, two steps back. This issue is present throughout the film, which is in such a rush to get to the next scene, the next moment, the next song, it itself only isn’t stopping to wait and enjoy any bit of its own silliness. Were there actual comedy writers involved here, at the VERY least, Param Sundari could have been a, you know, “Anyone But You” type experience, where Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney type, two very attractive people with genuine chemistry in stunning locations showing off their chiselled bodies, kept you entertained.
