Ross Clarke-Jones is an Australian big wave surfer renowned for his fearless approach to some of the world's most challenging surf spots. Hailing from Terrigal on the Central Coast of New South Wales, he has been a prominent figure in the surfing community for decades.

In 2001, Clarke-Jones made history by becoming the first non-Hawaiian to win the prestigious Quiksilver in Memory of Eddie Aikau competition at Waimea Bay, a testament to his prowess in massive surf .

Clarke-Jones co-starred in the 2012 Australian documentary Storm Surfers 3D, which showcased his big wave adventures alongside fellow surfer Tom Carroll. The film was well-received, premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival and winning the AACTA Award for Best Feature Length Documentary .

He is known for tackling formidable waves at locations such as Shipsterns Bluff, Cow Bombie, Pedra Branca, and Nazaré.

In 2018, he narrowly escaped serious injury at Nazaré in Portugal after being dragged underwater and pulled into a rocky area, highlighting the inherent dangers of big wave surfing .

Beyond surfing, Clarke-Jones has ventured into reality television. In 2019, he participated in Australian Survivor: Champions v Contenders. Unfortunately, during a rope-swing challenge, he suffered a severe ankle injury, leading to his evacuation from the game and subsequent legal action for damages due to the incident's impact on his health and career .
