Alfred Chicken (Game Boy) Playthrough

Описание к видео Alfred Chicken (Game Boy) Playthrough

One of my favourite platform games on Game Boy, Alfred Chicken is a fun platformer with a ton of secrets to find! Of course I'm biased because I share a name with the title character, but this is a great game regardless.

If you've seen my Super Alfred Chicken playthroughs, you may think this game is similar or identical (and it doesn't help that the European box art for the SNES game has the same cover image as this game). It does play similarly, but there's a few differences.

The main one is that the goal here is to explore each level and release all the balloons, unlike in the SNES game where you only need to release 1 large balloon at the end of the level. Here, the jam jar powerup that enables you to shoot is found in hidden rooms rather than found lying around each level. And perhaps most notable of all, the boss battles here are shoot-em-up levels.

It's a very fun game, but it is a very tough game too (and it's significantly tougher than the SNES game which leans more towards easy), mainly because the Game Boy's limited resolution makes it hard to see hazards above you- expect to die plenty of times in the later levels by jumping into flying spikes you didn't see. Therefore it is crucial you learn many of the game's secrets to get as many lives as possible to provide a cushion for making it through the punishing later levels and final boss battle.

I don't get all watering cans here required for the good ending, as with Super Alfred Chicken, expect me to make future videos where I do find all watering cans.
