In this talk, Neelakantha Bhanu Prakash, the world's fastest human calculator, talks about how mathematics is almost as first nature to human beings as language is. He also addresses people being scared of mathematics and how developing numeracy at the country level will help in boosting the economy. He states the importance of cognitive skills and also the way to develop them through maths. He ends his talk by stating the way of changing the style of the curriculum which will help an individual to overcome maths phobia and achieve whatever they want to. Renowned globally as ‘The World’s Fastest Human Calculator’, Neelakantha Bhanu is a young prodigy who has achieved numerous accolades in the field of Mathematics.

In his journey as a mind sports athlete, he has surpassed the records of icons like Shakuntala Devi by bagging 4 world records and 50 LIMCA records to his name! He is also the first Asian to win the gold medal in Mental Calculation World Championship 2020 at Mind Sports Olympics, London. He has also been featured in the Forbes Asia 30 under 30 class of 2022 for his entrepreneurial capabilities and has been recognized as the ‘Youth Icon 2020’ by the Government of India.

He has also received praise from esteemed personalities such as the President and the Vice President of India for his achievements.

At only 22, he is the founder and CEO of Bhanzu, an Indian math ed-tech platform that aims to revolutionize the global math learning landscape and inspire children across the globe to love and learn mathematics, This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
