This engine's studs in the engine case where short from when I got it... (maybe they sheared in an earlier life when it had a similar high compression piston run...) but I have managed to use the engine till ... well, last test run, where the nuts were loose... I tightened them, and this time, the already short threads did not hold, one sheared some threads and the other , the nut's threads are deformed.

Anyway the cylinder is at a shop to be honed and I am waiting for new, proper length studs... and other parts. However, there may remain a noise, unrelated to this engine failure... something more like a bearing noise. Which can be noticed on other videos of this particular bike. So that is for some other time. I have yet to remove the short studs, ...
