Look there - a camel! 🐫 Camels are called 'ships of the desert' because they can travel long distances without water. They have ... humps on their backs that store fat to give them a lot of energy.

Flying high in the sky is a fast little bird called a roadrunner. Beep beep! 🐦 It can run super fast to catch insects and escape predators.

Sometimes, there are plants in the desert, like Joshua trees or small succulents, that store water in their thick leaves. These plants are tough and smart - just like the animals here!

What's that in the distance? Could it be a small lake? 🌴💧 Not really! It's a mirage, a trick that plays on your eyes when the ground is really hot. But sometimes, there are real water spots called oases, where plants grow and animals come to drink.

Let's not forget about the big-eared desert fox! 🦊 Or little beetles that run under rocks. When the wind blows hard, it can cause a sandstorm So, animals hide until they pass by.

Some deserts even have rocks and mountains, and at night, when the sun goes down, the sky is lit up with a million stars - so bright and magical!
