A man who was on supervision for a prior conviction of raping a child is now facing federal charges accusing him of using social media to lure a Seattle teenager and film their sexual encounter.

According to an indictment in the U.S. District Court in Seattle, 28-year-old Aqeel Ibn-Khalid Shareef faces one count of production of child pornography, which could carry a mandatory minimum sentence of 25 years in federal prison if convicted.

Charging documents say Washington Department of Corrections (DOC) officers who were supervising Shareef became suspicious that he was using unapproved electronic devices earlier this fall.

A warrant was issued for Shareef, and he was arrested in October.
