LXD's network forwards is equivalent to floating or elastic IP addresses in the cloud world. Effectively an address which doesn't directly belong to an instance but can be made to point to any existing instance.

LXD's implementation has a small twist in that it can do so on a per-port basis rather than just forwarding an entire address.
