How I fix an abstract painting I don’t love anymore — reworking a finished canvas using white paint, mark making, and layered texture. In this cozy studio session, I share why I changed my mind and how I decide what to keep, cover, and rework.

This painting had been sitting in my studio for months. I finished it, filmed a full series about it — and then realized it no longer felt like me. Instead of ignoring that feeling, I decided to film what happened next.

In this video, I re-work an abstract painting, painting over areas with white house paint, adding marks with pencil and artist crayons, and responding to the canvas in real time.

This is a relaxed, unplanned studio session. I didn’t fully set up to film — and that’s part of the charm. You’ll see the pauses, decisions, and small changes that are part of an honest painting process.

I also talk about mark making in abstract art — how marks add texture, guide the eye, and why your marks will always be uniquely yours.

Think of this as a casual visit to my studio.
No pressure. No perfection. Just painting.
