Erratum - at 04:34 I captioned that 88009 was named Juno - in fact its Diana!

On the morning of 10th December. Beautiful sunlight and interesting clouds!
Firstly on the West coast Main Line at Plumpton, north of Penrith. A straight section where trains can run at speed and I can practice pan shots!
As well as Pendos and 397s, we see Locomotive services 57002 hauling a class 37 north. The 37 is to replace 50050 / D400 Fearless at LSL's Upperby depot. The 50 failed on 4 December on its daily start-up. Once confirmed by the LSL Fitter it was demic, 57002 was sent to rescue it. I was unable to see the southbound working but hear that 57002 was failed itself at Preston and the consist had to be rescued by 47712!
We also see a northbound empty log train - these usually run overnight.

In the evening I went to Carlisle primarily to see the Blue Pullman heading south from Edinburgh for Holyhead following a trip for the Christmas Market. Also seen were the usual evening freights - and the Varamis Parcels train collected parcels in Carlisle!
West Coast ran a single Class 37s from Inverness to Steamtown.
The sad sight was DB Cargo hauling 3 cars from 325007 towards the scrapyard at Newport. The power car had, apparently already been scrapped. Royal Mail have been very quick to dispose of these assets.
