Most Pain in the lower left abdomen is benign, buy it can also be caused by very serious medical condition.

Treatment.
Probiotics can have some improvements. Also high fiber diet can be advised.
In complicated cases antibiotics can be prescribed.
Indications for surgery are abscess or fistula formation; and intestinal rupture with peritonitis.
Other less common causes of lower left abdominal pain include:
Sigmoid colon volvulus, bowel obstruction, Toxic megacolon. Spleen infarction, complicated urinary tract infection, colitis, fecal impaction, and Epiploic Appendagitis; gynaecologic disorders, cancer obstruction; ; leaking abdominal aortic aneurysm.
