In the video, a worker harvests shrimp in a concrete farm pond using a specialized rectangular push-net. The net features two key innovations: a curved frame and a rope-controlled bottom.

The curved frame (bent at the center of its short sides) allows the net to slide tightly against pond corners where shrimp gather. Unlike straight frames that leave gaps, this design helps guide shrimp into the net.

After capturing shrimp, the worker releases them into a mesh crate simply by loosening the rope attached to the net’s tip. This rope system replaces old lifting-and-dumping methods. With one hand controlling the push pole and the other managing the rope, workers move shrimp quicker and with less physical stress.
