Greetings from German Engineering Federation (VDMA).

The German Engineering Federation (VDMA) in association with BTG Legal conducted a web seminar: “Drafting Engineering Contracts to avoid disputes” on Friday, 16th July at 3:00 PM (IST).

Engineering procurement and supply projects have numerous complexities of a technical, commercial and legal nature, which may give rise to disputes during and after the project life. This coupled with the stress on the market due to the pandemic has led to an increasing trend of disputes in these contracts.

While a contract cannot be perfect to avoid all disputes, clauses should be drafted in a manner so as to cover the most critical risks and in the case of a dispute provide clear direction. The speakers in this session will outline certain key concepts that should be captured in a contract and provide suggestions of how to draft them.
