The 23rd was a really miserable day weatherwise, putting a stop to my venturing out beyond carlisle Station
I;d expected the last two days before Christmas to be relatively quiet on the train front but Monday's Engineer's train brought out some interesting equipment and we had the Yuletide Logs!

The 24th proved equally dark - platform lights were on more often than not in the middle of the day! The highlight was the stock from Edinburgh's Polar Express charters returning to Carnforth - Black 5 45407 The Lancashire Fusilier topped and tailed by Class 47s and BR Blue and grey Mark 2s, ex Riviera trains.
