Session 6: Africa – Sustainability, Human Rights and Ethical Globalisation
Africa exports extraordinary athletic talent — often early, often unprotected, often without long-term security.
At the same time, sport is used across the continent for education, health, peace-building, and community development. This dual reality defines African development.
Sport exposes the ethical dimension of globalization. Migration regimes, labour rights, child protection, sustainability, and dignity are not side issues. They are development conditions.
Without safeguards, openness creates vulnerability. Markets alone do not protect people. This session reframes development as both an economic and moral project.
Ethical leadership is not optional. It is a requirement for legitimate globalization.
