If you have a big array but you only need part of it, np.compress may help

np.compress takes in a 1-d array of booleans, the array to compress, and the axis to compress on.

Here are some examples of np.compress
np.compress(np.array([True]), A, axis=1)

np.compress(np.array([True]), A, axis=0)

You can use np.compress with masks, just make sure the mask in one dimensional.

np.compress((A0)[0], A, axis=1)

Take any column where the first row entry is greater than zero

np.compress((A0)[:,2], A, axis=0)

Take any row where the last column is greater than 0
