1952 Riley 2.5 Litre RMB - Certainly one of the best examples we have seen

In the immediate post-war years, a discerning motorist seeking a high-quality sporting saloon with class leading performance may well have chosen the 2.5 Litre Riley - with its crisp handling, vivid acceleration and ability to reach very nearly 100 mph, the Riley certainly had a lot going for it.

Despite now being a product of the Nuffield Organisation, the ‘RM’ Series Rileys remained true to the ethos of the original Riley company, which prided itself on producing a fine range of motor cars from family saloons to out-and-out sports cars. The competition successes achieved are truly legendary.

The 1.5 Litre model ‘RMA’ was first to appear, joined shortly afterwards by the 2.5 ‘RMB’. The larger model was powered by slightly modified version of the pre-war ‘Big Four’ engine, which produced 100 bhp.

This fine example of the RMB dates from 1952. Discovered after languishing in a barn for a number of years, it was acquired in 1993 and a meticulous restoration was carried out with the car finally returning to the road in 2008. Strikingly finished in Oxford Blue and Silver Grey with light blue/grey leather trim, the car presents superbly. Numerous photos of the restoration in progress are included, along with many bills and items of information.

Certainly one of the best examples of this desirable model available, it is worthy of close inspection and comes highly recommended, offering exceptional value for money.
