Over the past 20 years, the Summerside and Area Garden Club has tended to the Prince County Hospital Healing Courtyard Garden in Summerside, Prince Edward Island. Each year, donations are received by the Hospital Foundation specifically for the courtyard garden. These funds are used for tools, soil, plants, and other resources needed to maintain the gardens. Local nurseries and businesses donate plants, soils, and fertilizers, while community members have donated benches and materials to build a pergola.

The gardens are a constant work in progress; every week, over 30 Garden Club members volunteer time to maintain the gardens. Over the years, the courtyard gardens have grown to include hundreds of annuals and perennials.
