What does it take to design, build, and launch a dispatch management system in just six months?

This session offers a deep dive into the technical and collaborative practices that enabled us to deliver an efficient, working solution to a small organisation's business-critical problem.

A small but rapidly growing tourism experience business based in Marrakesh, Morocco, was struggling at coping with demand from customers, and critically needed to upgrade their operations management from a spreadsheet and hours of WhatsApp exchanges to a smoother, slicker solution to the problem: "Who is available and the best person to take this booking and give our customers an exceptional experience?". 

This is a real-world story of applying Agile practices under tight timelines and navigating remote teamwork to deliver a high-impact, urgently needed system, leveraging in particular Agile practices from Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), and Lean Startup and putting design and development in very close collaboration.

Attendees will gain practical insights into managing complexity, prioritising features, and ensuring quality in a globally distributed, fast-paced development environment, as well as a tale of how side-cars are the best way to discover Marrakesh, Morocco.
