Описание к видео Digitising some Colour Computer Tapes! Adventures in Archiving Ep 1

In this episode of Adventures in Archiving, join me as I unbox a treasure trove of retro tech goodies! 🎮 From encountering load errors to fixing a broken tape and testing out a vintage printer, it's an adventure filled with nostalgia and excitement. Let's dive in!

I wanted to give you an update on my archive site, but let's save that for another video. For now, let's focus on the archiving journey ahead. It all began with a box from the Dutch version of eBay, filled with pristine RadioShack products. 📦 Among them, the main attraction: a Color Computer 1.

Join me as we explore the contents of this box, including cartridges like Polaris and Color File, along with manuals and documentation in Dutch. 📚 Despite a bit of grime, the computer cleans up nicely, and we're ready to test it out with games like Galactic Attack and Frogger.

But the real gem of this lot? The included software and joysticks! 🎮 With plans to digitize the cassette tapes, we dive into the process using Audacity and a trusty cassette deck. Along the way, we encounter some interesting surprises, including trumpet music mixed in with computer programs!

As we test various programs and troubleshoot loading issues, we also take a closer look at a vintage printer and its colorful ink pens. 🖨️ Despite a few challenges, we manage to get some programs running and even print out cassette labels.

So, join me on this 20-minute archiving adventure, and discover the joys and challenges of preserving retro tech history. 📼 On my archive site, you'll find the tape files and instructions for use with your Color Computer or XRoar emulator. Stay tuned for more archiving adventures, and thanks for watching! 🌟 #RetroTech #AdventuresInArchiving #VintageComputing
