83’ Honda GL1100 Gold Wing ADV Rally Bike

Working off a mission of putting together the most unlikely but capable ADV build possible we started with a well tended gen 2 Gold Wing and it’s turned out to be a way more usable and suitable ADV bike then we would have ever expected.

with it's fuel tank under the seat, very low center of gravity, shaft drive, insanely comfortable seat and riding position, acceptable weight, easy adaptability to mods and accessories and it's surprising capabilities off road the ADV-Wing might be the ultimate sleeper ADV bike ever?

we clocked nearly 2k miles on this rig riding from twin falls idaho to grand teton np, yelowstone np, glacier np and many points in between on both paved and dirt roads and it did so much better then we could have hoped for.

and we weren't gentle either going full rally mode on some pretty intense fire and back roads at speeds pushing it for a street bike with dirt shoes and she did fantastic, well beyond what was expected really.

it's now undergoing a full carb rebuild with a few other mods and tweaks to make it even better, and in november we're riding down Baja highway 1 for another week of off-and-on road goofing about in some of the most beautiful places in north america.
