Powerhouse

Описание к видео Powerhouse

I first heard “Powerhouse” when I was a kid, as background music for Looney Tunes cartoons. The animators at Termite Terrace often used Raymond Scott’s novelty songs in their ‘toons. Later, I admired the great organist John Seng’s rendition on the Mundelein Wurlitzer, which showcased his dexterity and exuberance. In this arrangement, I was guided by Scott’s own 1937 Quintette recording on Brunswick Records, including the use of Chinese cymbal on my digital toy counter. If hearing my version makes you think of Spike the Dog or Wile E. Coyote, I’ll be pleased.
